We are a small rural acreage in White, South Dakota. Our dogs and horses are a very big portion of our lives. All of our dogs are house dogs and spend most of their time with us. We do have outside runs and a fenced yard for them when we cannot be with them. Our puppies are born in our bedroom and spend the first few weeks of their lives there. We began raising Corgis as we truly love our dogs and when many of our friends who wanted Corgis had a hard time finding quality dogs, we decided to have a litter or so a year. We did our research and bought the dogs we planned to breed as puppies from known and reputable breeders. Our intention is to raise healthy companions to show, compete in obedience or agility or to just plain love and be best friends with their owners. We cannot even imagine life anymore without our faithful companions. Each one is special in their own way and it is like having several children with diverse interests and personalities. Our grown children often think we are little off as we spend so much time with our animals. We have a background in showing and training horses and were quite successful at that. Laurie had halter and pleasure horses and Gary had game horses and rope horses. It made life interesting with the contrasts and we have always felt a good horse is a good horse. We have had several wonderful horses in our lives and they mean a lot to us also. Now that we are approaching retirement age, we mostly ride for pleasure. We travel and camp with our horses and corgis. Gary is an avid hunter and sportsman and in addition to our corgis, we have a wonderful yellow lab who hunts with him. We also have some special feline friends and all of our cats and dogs get along very well. |
